Skin has the ability to naturally produce oil which is called sebum. It aids in protecting the skin from moisture loss. You need to make sure that you retain those natural oils. Here are some ways you can do so;

1. Olive Oil Cleanser to Soothe Dry Skin

Olive oil works as a natural cleanser and moisturizer. All you have to do is rub it in with a damp cloth until it cools then wipe off the excess oil. It will not take away your skins natural oils, and will help you cleanse your skin.

2. Avocado Mask

This is a rich and creamy mask your skin will enjoy. It is easy to make and effective for soothing dry skin. All you have to do is puree half an avocado and mix it with a teaspoon of olive oil. You can also mix in some honey if you suffer from an extremely dry skin. Apply the mask to your face, leave it on for 10 minutes, and then wash it off. It will leave your skin feeling moisturized. If you feel it’s necessary, you can top it off with your regular moisturizer as well.

3. Olive Oil and Sugar Scrub

This will only take about 5 minutes in the kitchen. All you need to do is mix ½ cup of sugar with 2 tbsp of olive oil. You can also mix in essential oils of your choice such as like lavender. Then gently rub in the scrub and then wash it off. In the end, use a soothing moisturizer to lock in the advantages you have reaped from the freshly exfoliated skin.

4. Homemade Oatmeal Honey Mask

Oatmeal is a great exfoliator. You need to mix 2 tbsp of oats with a tablespoon of honey and a dash of water. You can also warm it up a bit so it will be more soothing to put it on. Leave it for 15 minutes then wash off. You can also add in a banana for the fragrance.

5. Apply Coconut Oil Before Bedtime

This is amazing for people with chapped heels and hands. Apply a thick layer of coconut oil then wear socks and leave it on for overnight. In the morning your skin will soften so you can easily get rid of the dry skin.
