How water contributes to your hair, body and overall health

Our skin is also made of several cells and it needs water to function properly. It is an absolute essential to maintain the moisture in our skin and provide essential nutrients to the cells. This is what you need to know;

Water refills the skin tissue and increases its elasticity. This aids in delaying the exterior of signs of ageing such as wrinkles and fine lines.  Water cuts down the need for expensive anti-ageing treatments. It keeps the skin hydrated and supple.Water fights skin disorders such as psoriasis, wrinkles and eczema. It also makes the metabolic rate higher and the digestive system much more capable to flush out toxins from the body. This as a result gives you a healthy and glowing skin.

Water also helps in eliminating redness which can result from allergies or extended sun exposure. A cold water compress can help with under-eye inflammation or any swelling on the body. Washing your face with cold water in the morning reduces eye puffiness.

Cold Water

Cold water leaves the hair glossy and shiny. Ocean water supports marine botanicals which help to repair, cleanse and detangle strands. It has red algae and sea lettuce which serve as amazing cleansers. Soft water shower also helps make the hair easily manageable because of the low mineral salt content in it. On the other hand, salty water can make the hair frizzy. To avoid this, you must wash your hair after getting out of the pool. You can even take a shower before going to the pool so the strands absorb the clean water first. Then you can use a conditioner for the extra protection.

Water is a natural setting lotion for hair. The hair strands are made up of hydrogen bonds which separate when you make your hair wet. Styling your hair when it’s wet can reform the shape of your hair so you can achieve the soft waves look.

Dehydration Impact

Our hair depends on a moisture-rich environment which is why dehydration has a direct impact on the growth of hair. The lack of moisture will lead to dry and brittle hair. It may even lessen or stop the genetic rate at which your hair grows if you are not having the required water consumption. Mixing essential oils such as jojoba oil with water and spraying it on your hair can give you a nourished look. And you don’t need a hair serum which would save you tons of money.

Our body is made up of 60% water. It is needed by body for digestion, circulation, absorption, production of saliva, transportation of nutrients throughout the body. We may not even be able to think when dehydrated because our brain is literally made up of water. Therefore the lack of water may even cause headaches. Our muscles are made up of about 75% water, which is why it is important to provide them ample water. It keeps their contraction normal and avoids muscular cramps.
